Each year the George Town Council visits the three schools in the municipality to administer vaccinations to relevant school aged children.
The next immunisation day is taking place on Wednesdday 8th October 2008 - details as follows:
Grade 6
Heptatis B - Second and Final Hep B Injection for the year.
Grade 10
Gardasil - Grade 7 girls only. Third and Final for the year.
Many diseases prevented by immunisation are spread directly from person to person, so good food, water and hygiene do not stop infection. Despite excellent hospital care, significant illness, disability and death can still be caused by diseases which can be prevented by immunisation.
All vaccines will be administered by Dr. Tim Mooney.
