To be eligible for a Pensioner remission on rates you must as at the 1st July of the financial year :
Pensioners are eligible for a remission if they hold a current pensioner concession card, a Repatriation Health Card or a Health Care Card and are legally responsible for the rates on the property which is their principle place of residence. Where the claimant is institutionalised then the spouse may be entitled to a remission. In the case of joint ownership, at least one of the owners must meet the eligibility criteria. There is a limit of one remission per year per pensioner household.
